RLII is a patented recloseable label solution that outperforms regular peel and reseal labels. Perfect for wipes packaging, travel packs, and alcohol wipes effective for the reduction of COVID-19 spread, RLII’s semi-rigid enclosure makes it easy to open and close packages with just one hand. It also closes securely and tightly, retaining moisture and preventing dry-out. It’s flatter and stacks better on a shelf. Add in eye-popping graphics up to 10 colors, and you’ve got a label with exceptional appeal.
Sous vide is a popular kitchen technique that uses a controlled temperature water bath as its cooking medium. ABX initially partnered with a high-profile customer to create a sous vide solution for their famous breakfast staple. Our technology has proven superior in the industry, and we offer sous vide films for a variety of other cook-in products, such as proteins, vegetables, rice, and grains. Ideal for restaurants or for home chefs who want the efficiency and convenience of fresh-tasting, ready to heat-and-eat foods.
Our sous vide films are designed for shallow and deep draw applications with excellent clarity and toughness. Available in both barrier and non-barrier configurations and peelable or lock seal finishes, with options for high and standard barrier cook-in films in thicknesses ranging from 3 to 13 mils. Since sous vide films require a bottom forming and top web “system” explicitly designed to work together within the stringent requirements of sous vide cooking, ABX provides both films for the whole package.
Developed in-house at ABX, UltraFilm forming and non-forming materials are designed for challenging deep draw forming and high abuse applications. It performs exceptionally well, forming difficult draw ratio pockets for products such as hamburger patties, meat sticks, and string cheese. UltraFilm replaces the material cost and labor for meat processors to wrap their bone-in cuts with an extra bone guard layer. With its robust design, UltraFilm provides excellent puncture resistance and downgauge options that deliver additional cost savings. UltraFilm is sustainable, too, by offering enhanced barrier properties at lower thickness levels, reducing the amount of plastic going to our landfills.
Developed in conjunction with one of our customers, Marvelcote-A™ is a fully repulpable solution for companies looking to utilize paper products with a protective heat-sealed aqueous coating. The result is a more sustainable packaging for lidding applications and components for multiwall bags.
Marvelcote-A has passed rigorous repulpability tests and is capable of 85%+ repulping. Most of the fibers are recyclable and can be made into other products – while maintaining excellent converting and printing performance.
Marvelcote-A is heat sealable. It provides a barrier to oil and grease and works well as a responsible alternative to packaging for wax and polyethylene coatings. It’s compatible with hot and cold glue applications and is abrasion-resistant.
ABX has developed nine recyclable film structures to fit various product needs. This is a testament to our commitment to sustainability. These unique Recycle Ready films perform like traditional multi-layer films and are made of 100% recyclable materials.
Recycle Ready is available in various HDPE and LDPE blends to fit applications ranging from low temperature to heat resistant temperature sealants and are available in both breathable and high barrier configurations.
Steam Quick® is our patented film designed to cook with steam. These proprietary films produce a hermetically-sealed package that utilizes microwave energy and steam maintained at a consistent pressure to optimize the cooking process. Even better, Steam Quick® is safe; unlike other solutions, its vents virtually reclose once the cook cycle ends. This minimizes leaks and prevents hot juices from spilling out. Typical applications include cooking frozen vegetables, starches, and frozen pre-cooked proteins and meals.
Steam Quick® performs well, too. Unique materials and vent configuration allow Steam Quick® to maintain more consistent pressure and temperature. Meats, cheeses, butters, and sauces tend to create hot spots in other cook-in packaging – but not with Steam Quick®. In addition to reliable in-bag steaming, our films are exceptional at preserving color, texture, and nutritional content.
Available in two configurations, Steam Quick® is FDA approved for cooking temperatures up to 265°. Films featuring Steam Quick® technology are stiff and are machinable on typical VFFS packaging lines.
